They already know the secret!
What are YOU waiting for?
A lot. The average improvement that our students see on the SAT math after one round of tutoring is 100-150 points.
But we’ve also had students go up by over 200 points and even some that went up over 300 points in the math alone.
Don't take our word for it though; you can check out just some of our student success stories on the page.
Can my child just do better on their own?
Of course!
The question is how much better.
The last academic level study on the subject was by the National Bureau of Economic Research back in 2016. They found that when students just retake the SAT on their own, the average improvement is only 40 points... And that was when the SAT was 3 sections and the top score was 2400!
But the bigger question is also how much time and effort it would take for them to diagnose their exact strengths and weaknesses on their own. They would need to figure out which sections to focus on, not just based on what they struggle with, but also on what shows up most often on the exam.
They’d have to find practice questions that accurately reflect real SAT Math problems, gather enough variations of those questions so they’re not just memorizing one solution but actually mastering the concept, and turn those weaknesses into strengths so that on test day they can handle any variation thrown at them.
They would also need to locate high-quality explanations — both live and video — for when they get stuck. On top of all that, they’d have to build and follow an organized study schedule and stay consistent and motivated enough not to lose momentum along the way.
If they are serious about self-study, have them check out the free course in our resources. It will help them understand what it will take.
Will my child get the score they need?
Now that we can't know for sure. We've had some students that only needed a 60 point improvement to get full scholarships.
Others needed 260...
It all depends on their goals, and where they're starting from.
If they're starting from a lower score, they are going to have to work harder and longer than other students, but we believe everyone can get there.
How long is an info session?
Our info session is a quick 15-minute phone call with a trained member of our team (who is also a former PoP student).
The purpose of the call is simply to understand your goals, learn about your student’s situation, and make sure our SAT Math Program is a good fit.
They’ll also go over basics like the schedule and workload so you can clearly see whether this is something your student can be successful with.
If it seems like a good match, you’ll be invited to submit an application and book an acceptance interview.
Do you only offer SAT math prep?
Math is our specialty, but we also offer SAT reading prep. You can find more information by signing up for our info session. Just know that studying for both math and reading at the same time can be A LOT.
Instead, we recommend that students focus on one subject at a time and "super score" their SAT score (taking their best math score and combining it with their best reading score).
When does the course start?
We offer five main SAT Math prep programs each year, each designed to prepare students for the major SAT test dates (March, June, August, October, and December).
If you’re unsure which test date is the best fit for your student, you can book an info session with a member of our team. They’ll walk you through the options and help you choose the ideal timeline based on your student’s goals, availability, and needs.
Our prep courses typically begin 10 weeks before the SAT test date, giving students plenty of time to build skills and confidence. However, most of our students benefit from previewing material 12–15 weeks before their chosen test date to ensure they’re fully prepared.
Homework expectations vary by student, depending on their individual needs and score goals. In general, the greater the improvement a student is aiming for, the more practice they will need.
On average, students who improve about 100–150 points in math over a ten-week period—which aligns with our class results—typically dedicate 1–2 hours of practice per day outside of class.
Our trained instructors help each student create a personalized study plan so that their practice time is focused, efficient, and aligned with their improvement targets.
The amount you'll need to invest in our program is explained in the video at the top of the page.
